How Many Pallets of Sod Your Lawn Needs
One pallet covers 400 square feet; one piece covers 2.67. Enter the measurements and the calculator rounds up for you.
Break the lawn into rectangles
Most yards are a few rectangles with a house in the middle. Sketch them and measure each one separately; add the areas together.
Measure in feet, corner to corner
A 100-foot tape or a measuring wheel is faster than pacing. Round each measurement up to the next foot.
Subtract what is not lawn
Take out the driveway, beds, pool deck, and patio, but not narrow paths or tree rings; the offcuts cover those.
Round up to whole pallets
Divide by 400 and round up. Edges and curves use more than the math says, so a little extra is cheaper than a second delivery.
For curved or irregular areas, measure the longest length and the average width and treat it as a rectangle; for a circle, multiply the radius by itself and by 3.14. If you would rather we measure, our estimator does it as part of the quote.
