Bayside Sod has joined GreenCare for Troops, giving back to the military families who give so much to all of us.
At Bayside Sod, one of our core values is simple: We Care in This House. For five generations, that has meant caring about the quality of our turf, the people on our team, and every customer we serve across Bradenton, Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch. Today, we are proud to extend that care a little further.
We have officially signed on as a volunteer with GreenCare for Troops, a national program run by the nonprofit Project EverGreen that connects military families in need with professional lawn, landscape and snow removal services — completely free of charge — while a loved one is deployed or on active assignment.
Why This Matters to Us
When a service member is deployed, the everyday work of keeping up a home doesn’t pause. Lawns still need mowing. Yards still need care. For the spouse, parent or family holding things together back home, a healthy, well-kept yard is one less worry — and one more place to relax, play and recharge during a stressful season.
That’s a mission we understand. We spend every day helping homeowners take pride in their lawns. Being able to do that for a family serving our country is exactly the kind of work that makes us proud to do what we do.
About GreenCare for Troops
GreenCare for Troops has been serving military families since 2006. Over nearly two decades, the program and its sister effort, SnowCare for Troops, have built a remarkable record:
- More than $20 million in donated lawn and landscape services
- Around 15,000 professional volunteers nationwide
- Roughly 20,000 military families served
- Reaching families across all 50 states
The program was also honored in 2012 by then-First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden as a Joining Forces Community Challenge honoree, recognizing its support of military families through community service.
A Word From Our Team
“Helping people know they matter is at the heart of everything we do. Our military families matter, and being able to care for their lawns while they serve is a small way for us to say thank you. We’re honored to be part of this program.”
— Tiffany Bailey, CEO & Co-Owner, Bayside Sod
