Farm-Direct Sod for St. Petersburg, FL

Which grass, how to order, and how much.

Three steps from our field to your yard, the neighborhoods we deliver to, and the delivery fee.
One pallet covers 400 sq ft. Measure, divide, and pick the drop spot; a calculator does the math.
Every pallet laid in St. Pete is trucked in from a farm somewhere else. Ours leaves Bradenton the morning it is cut, crosses the Sunshine Skyway, and comes off the forklift onto your driveway the same day, which is the difference between sod that roots in two weeks and sod that arrives already stressed.
The distance changes two decisions. Delivery beats pickup for anything over a few pieces: a pallet weighs roughly 2,500 pounds, more than most trailers and every pickup bed should carry across a 4-mile bridge. And the day matters more than it does in Bradenton: order for the day you will lay it, because a pallet that waits overnight in the heat yellows from the middle out.
St. Pete’s own conditions, reclaimed water on many streets and salt in the yards Helene flooded in September 2024, are covered on the St. Pete grass page and in our hurricane soil guide.

If the quality of your sod disappoints you on arrival, we replace it or refund your money. For installation, you make the final payment only once you are satisfied. Bayside Sod is a fifth-generation family farm, growing sod in Bradenton since 1987.

Ours comes from our own farm at 19810 FL-64, Bradenton, about 45 miles south of St. Pete by way of I-275 and the Sunshine Skyway. It is cut the morning it ships and delivered the same day.
For a few pieces, pick up at the farm store (Mon to Fri 8 to 4:30, Sat 8 to 12); it is the only way to buy less than a pallet. For a pallet or more, delivery is the better deal once you count the round trip over the Skyway and the trailer you would need for 2,500 pounds of sod. St. Pete delivery carries a fee we quote with the order.
Free homeowner delivery covers Bradenton and Sarasota. St. Pete orders carry a delivery fee that depends on the address and the load; we quote it with the pallet price.
The same day. Stacked sod heats from the inside, and a pallet left overnight in Florida heat can yellow in the middle. Schedule delivery for the day you or your crew will be ready, and water each section as soon as it is down.
Yes. Our crew removes the old lawn with a sod cutter, preps the soil, and lays the new sod, and you make the final payment only when you are satisfied. See sod installation in St. Pete.
Pinellas County is under the same one-day-per-week order as the rest of the region, through March 31, 2027, and new lawns get the same 60-day establishment period: any day for 30 days, then three days a week. Register the variance with the District before the install. St. Pete’s reclaimed water customers should check the city’s watering schedule (opens in a new tab).
Call the farm or send the quote form, and we will price the sod and the delivery to your address.
