When to water new sod

When installing sod, remember that it needs immediate watering. The roots need to establish a connection with the soil quickly, and initial watering helps the grass adapt to its new home.

SodUniversity recommends watering enough to get down into the roots and soil on days 2 through 5. Do this in the early morning and again in the late afternoon.
